Gail Stanton

Gail was Playmate of the Month for June 1978. Her pictorial was titled Southern Exposure.

Gail was born Brenda Gail Stone on Nov. 19, 1954, in Memphis, TN. She was a cheerleader and was homecoming queen in high school. The daughter of a Southern Baptist church deacon, she changed her name so as to not embarrass her family.

Gail first appeared in Playboy in the pictorial The Girls of the New South in April 1977. According to her Playmate of the Month pictorial, she was a computer programmer and part-time model.

According to “The Playmate Book: Five Decades of Centerfolds,” Gail did Playboy promotions for six years, was Miss Michelob Light for five years and was a special events coordinator for Seagram’s for five years. She also did publicity work for the Knoxville World’s Fair. She later became manager of player development for the ITT Sheraton Casino in Mississippi.

Her only film appearance was the comedy “Making the Grade” (1984), in which she played Dicette #2.

Gail reportedly dated Elvis Presley a couple of times as a young model in Memphis.

Gail died Nov. 21, 1996, in Memphis, TN, of a colon blockage, two days after her 42nd birthday.
